Wearing a sequin skirt in broad daylight can seem a little intimidating at first – but when you pair it with really low key basics, the juxtaposition of the two styles can be really fun!
I found this gold sequin skirt at Buffalo Exchange for $4 – not going to lie. Sequins are one of my favorite things to thrift for, they are easy to spot and more often than not you can find really cool vintage handmade pieces.
A classic white sneaker is a great way to anchor your look because they go with virtually everything. I totally avoid heels if I am doing a sequin mini skirt too to avoid looking like I am either doing the walk of shame, or have strayed from my corner on Hollywood.
When styling your sequins (especially mini’s) I would suggest adopting a less is more mentality. If you are rocking a sequin blazer, go for some distressed BF jeans, and a white tank. Bring your floor-length sequin frock into the daylight with a denim jacket, some sneakers and a messy updo. The ‘less is more rule of thumb’ is awesome because it works across the board!
It also helps to stock up on effortless essentials. The weather is finally getting cooler here in San Diego, so I have began to started to add my jackets into the mix, especially in the evenings. I love this faux-leather one from Topshop, the quilting and zippers are super cute, and it is another wardrobe essential that goes with pretty much everything else in my closet — if you can’t tell I am a big fan of clothes that get along with eachother. 🙂
I recently just scored a space at The Desk Hub this past month, and so this studded Rebecca Minkoff bag has really come in hand for treking back and forth from the office. I love how lightweight the design is, because it is unlined, and the pebbled leather is really durable, totally love it!
All you need to finish things off is a strong cup of coffee and you are good to go – happy Monday!
