The Fashion-Savvy Way to Wear Florals this Spring

Florals for spring…groundbreaking, I know.

It can be such a challenge to find a fresh take on a trend that has been reinvented for centuries, but this season I saw a really fresh take to florals that I fell in love with at first bloom. If you are looking for an unconventional way to wear your floral frocks try throwing one some skinnies underneath. I was scrolling the ‘gram when I saw a breezy floral dress being worn over skinny jeans and paired with stilettos and I literally looked like the heart-eyed cat emoji. There was something about this particular combo that just called to me.

Perhaps it’s the fact that I live in Utah now (and its cold AF), so any excuse to wear pants is a win in my book…but to be honest I really just like the combo. It’s like the style equivalent to PB and Jelly – a match made in heaven. Plus its such a great way to get more use out of those flirty florals during cold weather months.

So next time you are craving warmer weather, rethink your florals, skip the tights and throw on your fave pair of skinnies instead. I have found that this combo works great especially if the dress if made of a lighter material and/or an A-line shape so it really flows and doesn’t cling to your body. It also looks killer with a leather jacket to top it off if you are still dealing with cooler temps.

If you are in the market to pick up some floral pieces, one of my personal fave’s I am wearing this season is this ah-mazing bell sleeved casual wrap dress from StyleWe. It’s just casual enough that it looks super sleek with skinny jeans, but can be dressed up with heels and bare legs come summertime! It has such amazing details from a origami style back and lace trim sleeves to the perfectly placed pockets and bejeweled bee on the lapel. Shop the look now below, including these rad sunnies I scored for under $30!
