Its hard to believe that NYFW for Spring 2015 is right around the corner. I will be heading to Fashion Week on Thursday morning and have back to back shows once I get there, not to mention after parties and other events. I am also managing to take the weekend off to spend in the city with friends, and take in some of my favorite restaurants and shopping hot spots.
With so much on the agenda I have had to make sure I had something to wear for every occasion while keeping it down to one suit case. I also have the added challenge this year of packing while I am packing to move out of state, surprisingly it has been a bit of a challenge but not to bad now that I have a few seasons under my belt!
Here are some of my must have items for trips to the Big Apple during the most fashionable time of the year, plus a sneak peak of how I styled them.
Skinny Jeans: Perfect for high-heels or chucks and can dress up or down.
A Leather Jacket: Right now NYC is humid in the day, but cool at night so a lightweight leather jacket works perfectly!
Embellished Skirt: Mini skirts with some personality are actually really versatile. I love pairing them with a statement T, or dressy top depending upon the occasion.
Black: Working backstage you really cannot have to many black pieces, but make sure their textures fit work together.
Mirrored Sunnies: Mine are none other than Ray-Ban Classic Aviators (big surprise).
Small Statement Bag: I mix it up and either take an oversized clutch or a small statement bag for shows and nights out.
Day Bag: Mine is my Jimmy Choo ‘Riki’ bag that I have had forever, perfect for holding all of the essentials from MacBooks to make-up bags.
Fab Flats: I love leopard print and have had these smoking slippers for over a year. They are in a fun pony hair finish and they look great casual or dressy.
Heels You Can Walk In: I cannot stress the walking part. When you can’t find a cab at 3am you want to make sure walking 30 blocks isn’t going to ruin your week!
I hope you are all have an amazing week so far! Make sure to follow along with me on my adventures through NYC on Instagram @chicdisheveled.
