Beauty is a newer area of exploration for me here on the blog.
When it comes to my beauty bag, I take a very similar approach as I do to my closet – in other words, its a mix of affordable tried and true basics, plus the occasional splurge that is either worth the money because of its high quality, or because its just pretty to look at.
One of my favorite times of the year to stock up on my beauty splurges is during events like the Neiman Marcus Beauty Event because they have killer deals on amazing products, annnnd they always have a really fun gift with a $125 purchase! This year the gift is a super chic tote bag perfect for a day at the office or a day at the beach that is offered in a variety of colors and is stocked full of yummy samples of brand new beauty products like the new highliner by Marc Jacbos and the best selling fragrance from Maison Francis Kurkdjian that I have been dying to try.
Beauty samples are such a life saver for anyone who loves to travel because you get to treat yourself to all of these luxurious products while you are away from home and they are the perfect size for TSA standards so you can pack them on your carry on.
Below I am sharing a few of my favorite beauty buys from Neiman Marcus that are worth every penny including my new favorite scent Black Opium from YSL. It has hints of coffee, flowers and white vanilla bean and comes in a limited edition leopard print bottle. Meow!
Other favorites include the tried and true touch eclait concealer from YSL and my favorite Laura Mercier tinted primer. I tend to splurge on products that lay a flawless foundation because I find that the better the foundation I am able to lay when it comes to make-up, the less makeup I really need to put on because they enchance natural beauty not smother it. Last but certainly not least are a few of my favorite skin renewal rituals that help maintain a healthy and even complexion.
These are just a few of my faves, but I would love to know what some of your favorite beauty splurges are, so don’t be shy and drop a comment below! I am still looking for the perfect compact powder to keep in my bag with me for touch ups!
